How It All Started

Here we go, the long version: Josh and I (Joanna) with our three kids, Channing, Alan, and Jewel currently live in the beautiful prairie land of North Dakota, USA. Josh was born and raised in Nebraska under the teaching of the Word by his parents. After graduating from highschool and finding himself in utter darkness, he cried out to God in desperation and was finally heard by Him in the same hour that a hundred+ people were praying for him during the Workers and Elders conference in Oct, 2000. I grew up in northern Minnesota, also in a home centered around the Word of God. I sought to know God with my whole heart from the very beginning, and He personally revealed Himself to me at a young age, and has only continued to do so.   Josh and I met while working at a children's Bible camp in 2003. Josh knew after that week at camp that I was "the one," and we were married the following year. We settled together originally in St Louis, MO where we spent the next seven ye...

Have You Seen What I've Seen

We have also a more  ✶   S U R E    W O R D   O F   P R O P H E S Y  ✶ whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts... 2 Pet 1:19 A study of the Word of God has one effect: a light begins to shine in a dark place; the sun/day star arises in our hearts; the eyes of our hearts are enlightened (Eph 1:18). Apart from this one effect, the study is vanity. To study is to dig deep (Lk 6:48) and to seek with all your heart (2Ch 31:21, Jer 29:13). And when the sun begins to peek over the horizon, the study is fueled and intensified. "Where is He that is born KING OF THE JEWS? for we have seen His star in the east, and are come to [love/know/worship] Him." Mat 2:2 WHEN THE TREASURE IS FOUND, however, then what??? "...when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field." Mat 13:44 "Whe...

20 Years into For Ever

What started out as a couple of kids, with no big plans except to do life together, has become all of a fairytale where the marriage was actually a set-up between a prince and princess, arranged by the King Himself, for purposes and plans beyond our wildest dreams. The LORD reigneth, He is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed with strength, wherewith He hath girded Himself; the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved. Thy throne is established of old; Thou art from everlasting. The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves. The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea. Thy testimonies are very sure:  holiness becometh Thine house,  O LORD, for ever. Psalm 93

Pilgrim Pinpoints

1. Passover — landed on *April 21/22 in 2024 — in the evening at the start of the 14th day of the first month Nissan, where the blood of the substitute lamb marked the door, causing the angel of death to pass over. Lev 23:5 Ez 45:21 2. Feast of Unleavened Bread — *April 22/23, 2024 — a seven day festival beginning on the 15th day of the first month, where all leaven is purged from the house and unleavened bread is eaten instead. On the day after the sabbath day during this feast (Sunday), there is a wave-sheaf ceremony of the first cut sheaf of grain (barley, not wheat yet). This event kicks off the 50 day count for the tithe/first fruits feasts to follow. Lev 23:7-14 Ez 45:21 Josh 5:10 >>> 3. Pentecost/Feast of New Grain (wheat) — *June 21, 2024 — celebrated on the day after the sabbath that comes 50 days after the wave sheaf is offered during the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Two loaves of leavened, fine flour bread were to be brought out of your home and offered as first fruit...

Qualifications

WHAT SHALL THIS MAN DO? By Watchman Nee Pages 178-182 Some time ago, in England, I was invited to meet a group of young men and women, most of whom were at that time preparing themselves to serve the Lord […] They asked me if I would tell them what I regarded as the essential qualifications of a [worker]. […] The Notes that follow contain the essence of what I said to them then. They will be found to echo several of the matters we have treated at greater length already in these studies. ✔️ The Assurance of [God’s Promises]. This is the starting-point, and experience warns us that it is never safe to take it for granted in making such a list of qualifications as this, or when addressing any group of men or women. The foundation of all service for the Lord is that we should have met Him and come to know Him for ourselves, and have received the absolute assurance that, in Him, we are [His]. ✔️ [The Promised One is] our Life. […] ✔️ Entire Dependence on the Lord. It is easy to exercise a ‘...

We did it!

The boys and I finished our reading schedule yesterday, concluding the entire Bible in one year, exactly. First time for the boys reading through the Bible, I’m so excited for them! If I can convince my kids that the Bible is their lifeline, I will consider my parenting to be successful. ☺ My parents loved the Word and built our home on that foundation. The above picture is the two of them before they were married, holding their Bibles close. And that is how they lived the rest of their lives together. I mean, they LOVE it. My most common childhood memory of my mom is of her sitting on the couch every free moment she had reading her Bible. She had mapped out a schedule in her Bible with little numbers in the corner of the pages, (that to this day I still am not sure what the numbers meant) that would get her through cover to cover in three months, I think it was. My dad would sit the whole family down early in the morning before he left for work and read through with us a few cha...

Time To Go

Josh received direction from the Lord to serve Him in Israel in June of 2021. At the time, this seemed to be an insurmountable mountain from our perspective. For one, the world was kind of on lock down for all international travel, and especially Israel. Not to mention the vaccination requirements! Additionally, it is not a simple thing to decide to live in Israel unless you are Jewish. So at the time of hearing His word, we had only one option: let's sit here and wait to see how He does this.  The first opening was when the government of Israel dropped all COVID restrictions for travel in and out of country. This was announced in Feb of 2022.  A friend had called first thing in the morning with the news. "Did you hear?!?!? Travel to Israel is opening back up!!!" We felt the Lord's reassurance and confirmation, and again waited to hear the next move. Through different workers, we were encouraged to first go visit the country, survey the land and culture, and get a fee...
